The Faculty consists of the following departments :
Similar faculties in other technical universities of Russia
The Faculty of Radio Communication, Broadcast and TV was found in 1954 when the Novosibirsk Electro Engeneering Institute was established.
At first, the Faculty trains students in radio communication, broadcast and TV technologies. Recently, new discipline Radio Engineering has been formed in 1991. In 1995 Audiovisual Engineering has been also instituted.
Since 1995 the Faculty has been training students in Design and Technology of Radio Electronic Devices.
Wide range of specialities allows those who are admitted to the Faculty of RCBTV to gain a knowledge in any field of radio engineering from design and development of devices to their operation and maintenance.
General information about the speciality Radio Engineering
The speciality has been approved by the Russian Federation State Committee for University Education (05. 03. 94180).
The graduate qualification is a Telcommunications Engineer.
Full-time course runs for 5 years.
Radio engineering is the scientific and technical field involving research and development, aimed at designing and providing proper operation of devices and systems, based on electromagnetic oscillations and waves and used for transmission, reception and processing of data, receiving information about the environment as well as natural and technical objects, to be able to estimate their behavior or change their properties.
The areas of application for a graduate
The areas of application for a radio engineer are as follows but not limited: radio-technical devices, their functional units, methods and facilities applied to develop them and do research, physical and mathematical modeling
of devices as well as research to be done to get them ready for production.
